Douglas Kenning: Magna Graecia: The deeper soul of Italy. (Basilicata, Sicily, and other fascinating places!)
Douglas Kenning received a B.A. in ecology, an M.A. in literature and drama, and a Ph.D. in literature and philosophy from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He has worked professionally as a wildlife biologist, a stage actor, an army engineer officer, a Manhattan taxi driver, an academic administrator, a university professor, and a tour guide, among his many fields of interest and experience. He has written books on Japanese and British poetry and philosophy, articles on the culture and history of Sicily, Italy, and Japan, and stage plays. In the last decade, he has thrown himself fully into the world of the Greeks and the mythology, history, and landscape of Sicily: teaching, tour guiding and making videos.
Douglas Kenning currently is a popular professor at the Fromm Institute at USF, among other venues.
